Spiderman 3 is the recent big hit worldwide. the reasons for it being so popular, other than the interesting superhero storyline, i think many will agree that its visual effects play a large role in making the movie successful. For example, the scene shown above, spiderman standing at the tip of a cross on a top of a church is possible because modern computer-generated graphics is used to make the perfect scene but at the same time, it makes it look realistic too.

As technology grows more and more advanced, the visual effects in movies improve too. The movie "The Ten Commandments " shown in 1956 was quite a big hit at that time. It even won the Best Achievement in Special Effects Academy Award. Still, if one watches it today, you will find that the scenes in it look unrealistic compared to movies of our time like Spiderman 3.
